P2 Weekly Tip: Celebrate St. Patrick's Day by Going Green!
P2 Weekly Tip: Want to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day without turning blue? Go green, instead!
Throw a Green St Patrick’s Day party by using potted native plants as decorations and/or giving away small native plants as party favors.
- To celebrate, plant something green in your garden. For a St. Patrick’s Day twist, scatter some wildflower seeds, such as clover, in your garden. It’s attractive, bee-friendly, and helps hold moisture into the soil. (http://lighterfootstep.com/ & http://nature.berkeley.edu/urbanbeegardens/)
- If you want to purchase native plants, visit Haight Ashbury Neighborhood Council (HANC)’s native plant nursery in Inner Sunset. Go to: www.hanc-sf.org/native-plant-nursery for more information.
